In the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, teams representing the best universities of economics in Poland and Baltic countries have just started working on analytical reports of a subject company. The highest scored works will be presented during the final of the local edition of the CFA Institute Research Challenge in March 2022.
The next edition of the Research Challenge – the annual global equity research competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis has just been inaugurated during the official virtual kick-off meeting.
"The Research Challenge became a global brand. With the history of this initiative it is a great example of how, thanks to the involvement of professionals, you get a chance to create a project that supports careers of many young people around the world", says prof. Krzysztof Jajuga, President of CFA Society Poland. "The great advantage of the Research Challenge is its cultural universality. Regardless of whether you are studying in Warsaw or Hong Kong, you and your team prepare an analytical report and then present the efforts of your great work on the global stage, competing with teams from around the world".
This year, teams that have qualified for the competition will be working on Asseco Poland’s research report. In the first half of 2022, the best team representing Poland and the Baltic countries will compete in the semi-finals with other countries in the EMEA region.
"Unfortunately we are currently facing the 4th wave of the pandemic. We had to hold the kick-off meeting with this year’s subject company as previous just online", adds Krzysztof Jajuga. "However, I hope that the best teams representing the EMEA region join finals in-person, travelling offline to New York in May 2022".
Each edition of the CFA Institute Research Challenge is a project co-created by volunteers – professors as faculty advisors and business professionals as industry mentors who provide support to finance students working on the report.
"I would like to emphasize the great support from mentors, faculty advisors and competition partners, as well as experts evaluating reports, whom I would like to thank now for their engagement. Their presence in this competition makes the Research Challenge unique initiative", says prof. Krzysztof Jajuga.
As usual, Deloitte supports the local edition of the international Research Challenge competition.
"I am delighted that Deloitte became the Strategic Partner of the CFA Institute Research Challenge again in Poland. We support really important events for young and ambitious people who are just starting their professional careers.
