CFA Society Poland was established in 2004 and is one of 157 member societies of CFA Institute. The organisation is present in 70 countries or territories and gathers over 185,000 finance professionals in 164 countries.
The Society promotes the highest ethical standards in Polish investment community.
CFA Society Poland gathers professionals involved in broadly defined investment and financial management. This group includes portfolio managers, financial analysts, investment advisors, risk managers and many other finance professionals. CFA Society Poland has successfully supported CFA charterholders and candidates for almost 10 years.
At the moment there are 600 members in CFA Society Poland and over 2,000 candidates involved in the ongoing CFA® Program.

President of the Board
Professor Krzysztof Jajuga, Head of the Department of Financial Investments and Risk Management, Wroclaw University of Economics and Business
Professor Krzysztof Jajuga, an acclaimed economist and academic, is the President of the Board of CFA Society Poland and has contributed significantly to the fields of economics, finance, and risk management. Holding a doctoral degree in economic sciences and a habilitation degree, his acumen was recognized with the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by Cracow University of Economics and WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza, as well as an honorary professorship at Warsaw University of Technology. Prof. Jajuga embarked on his academic journey in 1979 at Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, where he still serves as a full professor since 1995. His expertise further encompasses heading the Department of Financial Investments and Risk Management at the university. A passionate educator and proponent of ethical financial practices, Prof. Jauga was instrumental in the founding of the Polish Association of Investment Professionals, now known as CFA Society Poland, in 2004. He has since served as its President, spearheading initiatives in ethics, and education, including the Academy of Investing, and university outreach. His scholarly pursuits also extend to editorial roles, as the Editor-in-Chief of the "Argumenta Oeconomica" journal and as a member of the Editorial Committee of the "Risk Management in Financial Institutions" journal. His outstanding leadership led him to chair the Committee of Statistics and Econometrics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and serve as the President-Elect of the International Federation of Classification Societies. Prof. Jajuga is equally adept at bridging the gap between academia and industry, fostering strong collaborations with many financial institutions and enterprises. His strategic insight is proven by his prior membership on the Scientific Board of the National Bank of Poland and the Supervisory Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. In his research, Prof. Jajuga concentrates on finance, financial instruments, financial markets, risk management, financial engineering, real estate, econometrics, and multivariate statistical analysis. His impressive scholarly output comprises more than 480 publications, both in Polish and English, inclusive of many books. He has presented more than 360 papers at domestic and international conferences, demonstrating his commitment to knowledge sharing and collaboration. His reputation has led to invitations to lecture in countries such as China, the United States, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Sweden.

CFA Society Poland board member since 2013, responsible for investment communication, PR, and events co-organizing. Financial blogger and commentator. Ethics, ESG, and financial education evangelist. Ex-editor in chief of two of the most important business websites in Poland: Bankier.pl and pb.pl. Chartered Financial Analyst® since 2005. Currently the Branch Director of Finax, robo-advisor. Graduated from the Cracow University of Economics, Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, University of Bedfordshire, SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and Warsaw University of Technology.
Ludmiła Falak-Cyniak, CFA, PRM, CEO, Aegon PTE
CEO of Aegon PTE S.A. pension fund management company. She has been active in the capital market since 1998. She is a specialist in asset management and portfolio management. She started her career as a financial analyst in a VC fund. She was the head of the research department and then the investment director in several investment companies such as KBC TFI; Skarbiec TFI; AMUNDI TFI served as a member of the Management Board of these companies. She graduated from the University of Łódź with a degree in banking as well as postgraduate studies in investment and Ph.D. studies at the Warsaw School of Economics. She holds a financial adviser license and a securities broker license, she is also Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Professional Risk Manager (PRM).
Bartosz Pawłowski, CFA, Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, mTFI
Bartosz Pawłowski, CFA is Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at mTFI (mBank Group). In his work, he focuses on the optimal construction of globally diversified investment portfolios. In 2016—20 he was Chief Investment Officer of mBank Private Banking, where he oversaw asset management and investment advisory. Previously he spent 10 years in London, initially as the Global Head of Emerging Markets Strategy at BNP Paribas and then as a Portfolio Manager at Finisterre Capital, an EM-oriented macro hedge fund. Bartosz holds M.A. in Economics from SGH Warsaw School of Economics and is a CFA charterholder. He has also completed a High-Performance Leadership course at IMD in Lausanne. He has been a board member of CFA Society Poland since 2020 focusing on networking projects, ESG/DEI, learning courses, and market research. Finally, Bartosz has been a CFA Institute Research Challenge grader for a number of years and has participated in multiple panel discussions representing the Society.
Piotr Polanowski, CFA, Managing Partner, Synerga+
CFA Institute Charterholder and Regular Member of CFA Institute and CFA Society Poland since 2012. Member of the Audit Committee (one three-year term) and the Board (two three-year terms) of CFA Society Poland for a total of 9 years. Vice President of the Management Board of CFA Society Poland since January 2017 to present responsible for Institutional Partnerships, Employer Relations, and Careers. Educated at The American School of Warsaw (International Baccalaureate ‘97), King’s College London (B.Sc. Business Management ‘00), and SGH Warsaw School of Economics (M.Sc. Finance and Banking ‘04). Experienced finance professional having worked in London, Tallinn, and Warsaw for 24 years in consulting, strategic advisory, M&A, and corporate finance, including Deloitte & Touche CE — tax & legal due diligence, Trigon Capital AS, FinCo Group S.A., DELTA Capital Group Sp. z o.o., Managing Partner at Synerga+ S.A. Relevant experience includes preparation and implementation of strategies for large corporations, expert witness in the area of financial analysis and valuation in international arbitrage and litigation, public expert witness in Poland, and member of supervisory boards, including Polish FSA-regulated financial institutions, such as fintech mPay S.A., guest lecturer at renowned Polish universities and MBA schools, such as Kozminski University and Warsaw University of Technology Business School. Educated at The American School of Warsaw (International Baccalaureate ‘97), King’s College London (B.Sc. Business Management ‘00), and SGH Warsaw School of Economics (M.Sc. Finance and Banking ‘04).
Beata Sax, CFA, Vice President/COO, Investors TFI; Chairwoman of the Board of the Chamber for Fund and Asset Management (CFAM)
Graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics (Finance and Banking) and University College Dublin (MEconSci in European Economics and Public Affairs). She spent 2002—2003 in Germany on a Robert Bosch Foundation stipend for young leaders from Central Europe. Holds the title of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). She has worked in the Polish financial market since 2000, first at the Securities and Exchange Commission (now the KNF) and next at the Ministry of Finance (2003—2007), where she rose to the post of Deputy Director of the Department for Capital Market Development (in charge of the Capital Market Section). She has been with Investors since 2007, since 2009 as Vice President / COO of Investors TFI S.A. Since May 2023, Chairwoman of the Board of the Chamber for Fund and Asset Management (CFAM).
Piotr Sieradzan, PhD, CFA, Advocacy Chair, CFA Society Poland
Piotr Sieradzan, PhD, CFA, brings over two decades of investment management experience to his role, with a particular focus on Central and Eastern Europe. Currently, he serves as the Vice President and Advocacy Chair of CFA Society Poland, positions he has held since 2008 and 2014, respectively. He has been a significant member of CFA Society Poland for 15 years. His career features leadership roles in managing investment funds, pension funds worth over $1 billion, and brokerage houses. Notably, from 2015 to 2021, he was the principal shareholder, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Chief Investment Officer of Everest Investment Management S.A., and its associated companies under the Everest Investments S.A. group. This group is listed on the sub-stock market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. In addition to his practical experience, Piotr Sieradzan, PhD, CFA shares his insights as a lecturer at Kozminski University. He is also an accomplished author, contributing books, reports, and articles on capital market topics. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Warsaw's Faculty of Law and Administration and pursued further studies at SGH Warsaw School of Economics, specializing in Finance and Banking. His academic achievements culminated in a doctorate from the College of Management and Finance at SGH Warsaw School of Economics. Beyond his professional and academic accomplishments, Piotr Sieradzan, PhD, CFA is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds the Investment Advisor's license. Piotr Sieradzan, PhD, CFA has been instrumental in implementing changes within CFA Society Poland and helped establish professional structures and processes, including the hiring of a full-time Executive Director. In 2018, he organized dedicated funding for Advocacy activities from 2019, making CFA Poland the only association in Europe to do so. He was also one of two authors and a key contributor to the acclaimed 2021 report on gold-plating in the Law of the Polish Capital Market, which earned CFA Poland the CFA Institute's award for the best research project globally. The report was shared with the Capital Markets Development Board and representatives of the DG FISMA of the European Union. At CFA Institute, Piotr Sieradzan, PhD, CFA serves on the Capital Markets Policy Council and EU Standards Advocacy Advisory Committee, advising on trends, risks, and proposed legislative solutions for capital markets. He is one of only five representatives from Europe and the sole representative from Central and Eastern Europe. Author of many publications on the capital market.
Audit Committee
The Audit Committee has been established in order to supervise the actions undertaken by CFA Society Poland. Currently, the committee comprises three people who hold regular meetings (at least once a year). The committee sitting is called in by the Head of the Audit Committee, Andrzej Sołdek, PhD, CFA.

Anna Depko, CFA
Anna’s adventure with the financial market began in 2006 when she joined Mercer in Ireland. As a member of the Investment Consulting team, she assisted pension fund trustees in the preparation and implementation of investment strategies, selection and assessment of asset managers, and use of market opportunities to diversify portfolio allocations. After returning to Poland in 2010, she joined a team of regional managers supporting a wide spectrum of deposit and investment solutions at Bank Zachodni WBK (today Santander Bank Polska). After moving to Warsaw in 2012, she began working with Analizy Online using her knowledge in assessing investment funds available on the Polish market, as well as contributing to business development. In the years 2014—2018 as Investment Communications Director she supported the asset management team and sales team at PKO TFI, and in the years 2018—2020, she was responsible for investor communications and customer relations in the THC Global Innovation fund. Since the beginning of 2021, she has been working in Axium as Business Development Manager. Anna has a master’s degree in economics from the University of Szczecin in the field of Marketing and Management and she is a CFA charterholder. Since January 2017, she has been a member of the Audit Committee of CFA Society Poland.
Andrzej Sołdek, PhD, CFA (Chair of the AC)
Andrzej Sołdek holds a doctorate in social sciences, specializing in economics and finance. He is an alumnus of the Faculty of Foreign Trade at SGH Warsaw School of Economics. In 2000, he completed the Strategic Management Study at the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland. He holds a broker license (since 1992), an investment advisor license (since 1994), and a CFA charter (since 2004). Andrzej Sołdek has dedicated his entire career to the financial sector. His professional journey began at the ING Group, where he worked as a broker at DM Bank Śląski SA from 1992 to 1995. He then served as an investment advisor at ING BSK AM SA and a CIO and member of the Board of Directors from 1996 to 1998. In 1998, he joined Zurich PTE SA, where he held various senior management positions such as CEO, CFO, and CIO, overseeing finance, accounting, controlling, and investment department, and actively seeking opportunities to increase market share. In 2003, Soldek moved to PTE PZU SA, where he initially served as Deputy CEO and CIO (2003—2008). From 2008 to 2016, he held the CEO's position, doubling as CIO from 2014 to 2016. His responsibilities included strategic management of PTE PZU SA, investment activities, fund accounting (OFE, DFE) and PTE, legal services, compliance, internal audit, and risk management. From July 1, 2018, to December 19, he served as the Vice President of the Management Board of Skarbiec Holding SA. Simultaneously, from July 1, 2018, he was a member of the Management Board of Skarbiec TFI SA. Between 2003 and 2005, Soldek served on the Supervisory Boards of listed companies such as W. Kruk SA, Polfa Kutno SA, and Elektrobudowa SA (2003—2004). From 2017 to 2018, he was a member of the Supervisory Boards of Elektrobudowa SA, Ferro SA, Skarbiec Holding SA, and Tarczyński SA. Presently, Soldek is a member of the Supervisory Boards of Esaliens TFI and Compremum SA. He is the Deputy Chairman of the Examination Commission for Investment Advisors. Additionally, he is a member of the Association and the Audit Committee of the CFA Society Poland, as well as the WSE Best Practices Committee.
Piotr Żochowski, CFA, ACCA
Piotr Żochowski, CFA holds degrees from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology at SGH Warsaw University of Technology and from the Warsaw University of Technology Business School. He further augmented his credentials with an MBA from London Business School. He has been active in the financial market since 1996 and holds the designations of CFA and ACCA. His managerial expertise has been honed through various roles in financial institutions and as a part of numerous supervisory boards. Between 2011 and 2022, he was a key member of PKO TFI. Initially, he served as the Vice President of the Management Board, responsible for Sales, Operations, and Risk from 2011 to 2012. Subsequently, he was appointed as the President of the Management Board and held that position from 2012 to 2022. He served as the Vice President of the Management Board at Pioneer Pekao TFI from 2001 to 2010, where he was responsible for Finance. Moreover, from 2002 to 2007, he was appointed the Pioneer Group's Regional CFO for Central and Eastern Europe. His career began at Arthur Andersen, where he worked as an auditor from 1996 to 1999. From 2016 to 2022, he held the esteemed position of Chairman of the Board at IZFiA. He has also been a member of the Supervisory Boards of various organizations:
• At Finat sp. z o. o., he was the Chairman of the Supervisory Board from May 2011 to September 2018, and then the Vice Chairman from September 2018 to September 2022.
• He was a member of the Supervisory Board at Bankowy Fundusz Leasingowy S.A. from October 2010 to July 2012.
• At NETIA S.A., he served as a board member from April 2009 to June 2010.
• He was a board member at Platforma Mediowa Point Group S.A. from February 2009 to June 2010. He has held the title of CFA since 2011.

Advocacy
Currently one of the most important areas of CFA Society Poland’s activity represented by the Advocacy Committee, which provides judgment on important legal matters and cooperates with regulators. The committee’s key opinions were issued on PPK (Employee Capital Plans), listed companies’ good practices and corporate governance for capital market participants.

Cooperation with universities/education
CFA Society Poland is active in the academic community. We cooperate with numerous universities in Poland and Baltic states. Our primary goal is promoting the CFA® designation among academics and students. Our main projects include students competitions: CFA Institute Research Challenge and CFA Society Poland Ethics Challenge.
