Online Panel Discussion: Identifying Investment Habits and Barriers of the Millenial Generation

A Millennials’ style of investing varies greatly from that of the generations which went before them. They feel more comfortable being self-directed and do not see value in traditional financial advice. Is a Millennial investing is a growing market?

CFA Society Poland conducted last year a survey among young people born between 1990 and 2000 about habit and barriers in an investment area. In February 2021 we decided to invite market experts and young investors to find out how millenials really invest.

Our speakers

Tomasz Szerzad currently works as retail products development manager at Aion, an innovative pan-european fintech bank, with a focus on PFM services. His previous endeavours include securities trading compliance at Credit Suisse, strategic advisory projects at L.E.K. Consulting, and lecturing at Wrocław University of Economics.

Krzysztof Nowak is a country head and consultant in Mercer Poland. Mercer has employed team of more that 70 consultants at the moment. Krzysztof has been working for Mercer since 1999. Prior to Mercer, he worked for few Polish and multinational organisations, mainly in banking sector. Krzysztof has over 20 years of experience in many investment and benefits areas. He is an expert in risk, health care and pension benefits. Among the projects lead or co-ordinated by him there have been: advice in the area of establishing company pension & savings plans for several Polish and multinational companies and advice and project management of establishing company pension funds and advice while establishing investment strategies (asset allocation ranges, exposure to foreign assets, performance benchmarks etc.). Krzysztof graduated from University of Economics in Poznań - MA degree in Finance. He passed securities broker exam (professional license) in 1992 and insurance broker exam (professional license) in 1997.

Ákos Szalay has worked at FHB Bank’s investment services product development before joining Dorsum’s Innovation Team in 2018. Running under the nickname “Mr. Simplicity” at Dorsum, his main vision is creating simple and easy-to-use solutions for complicated business workflows. Ákos is responsible for the in-house Investment Academy, regularly lecturing both experts and developers about investment products and practices.

Professor Krzysztof Jajuga
is President of CFA Society Poland, Professor of Economic Sciences at the Wroclaw University of Economics (title given by the President of Poland in 1992), Head of Finance Management Institute. He is member in scientific and professional organizations: Member of Executive Board of Committee of Statistics and Econometrics of Polish Academy of Sciences, Member of Executive Board of Committee of Financial Sciences of Polish Academy of Sciences , Member of Executive Board of Committee of Economic Sciences of Polish Academy of Sciences. His research interests are: financial markets and instruments, risk management, corporate finance, real estate, insurance and quantitative methods (econometrics, statistics).He was a member of the Scientific Council of the National Bank of Poland and a member of the Supervisory Board of Warsaw Stock Exchange.
