Piotr Adamczyk, Project Manager in the Capital Markets Department, Comarch Corporation
Piotr Adamczyk (vel Peter Adams) is a CFA charterholder, and Project Manager in the Capital Markets Department at Comarch Corporation, where he takes care of multinational implementations of Wealth Management systems. He has over 11 years of experience in finance and IT. In addition, Peter is a lecturer at Kozminski University, specialising in Corporate Finance and Company Valuation. Among others, he teaches business valuation and financial modeling on continuing/postgraduate studies at Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), and Kozminski University (ALK) focusing on income and comparative valuation models. He graduated University of Economics in Katowice in Finance and Accounting.
Piotr Domański, CFA, Valuation and Modeling Director, Deloitte
Piotr Domański builds financial models for various Deloitte clients. He has almost a decade of experience in financial analysis and transaction advisory services. His responsibilities include the preparation of complex financial models for numerous purposes e.g. debt financing, debt restructuring, internal controlling, preparation and reviews of business plans, business valuations in relation to potential transactions, group reorganization, preparation of fairness opinion etc. In the past, Piotr was responsible for the ECM area at Raiffeisen Bank Polska S.A. – Brokerage House, including cooperation with corporate clients in the admission to the Warsaw Stock Exchange and other projects from the capital market area. Piotr Domański graduated from SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Finance and Banking (Investment Banking faculty) and Quantitative Methods in Economy and Information Systems. Piotr is a licensed stockbroker.
Maciej Niemierka, Manager, Valuation and Modeling Team in Warsaw, Deloitte
Maciej is a manager in the Valuation and Modeling Team at Deloitte. He has over 5 years of experience in the areas of business valuation, financial modeling, finance and controlling. He works on projects for clients from the entire scope of the economy, including energy, construction, software, retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, and real estate. He is a graduate of SGH Warsaw School of Economics with a degree in Corporate Finance.
Julia Susanne Orlich, IMC is Director, Partnerships & Client Solutions, EMEA at CFA Institute
Based in London, Julia manages CFA Institute’s relationships with financial services firms such as asset managers, asset owners, banks and professional services firms across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, always working in close partnership with local CFA member societies. Julia joined CFA Institute in 2014, shortly after graduating from university, and has held other relationship and client services roles in the organisation before starting her current role in April 2021. Julia holds a BA(Hons) degree in Theatre Dance from the University of the Arts London and is holding the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing, the CFA Society UK Investment Management Certificate and the CFA Institute Investment Foundations certificate.
Krzysztof Jajuga, Prisident, the Board of Directors, CFA Society Poland
Professor of Economics, a lecturer at Wroclaw University of Economics and Business and also at foreign universities (including Jiao Tong University in Shanghai). In his scientific and research work, he focuses on finance and statistics as well as econometrics. Head of the Department of Financial Investment and Risk Management, and director of the Institute of Financial Management at Wroclaw University of Economics and Business. He is a Chairman of the Statistics and Econometrics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and Member of the praesidium of the Committee on Finance of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is also a member of the Central Commission for Degrees and Titles and President of the Board of Directors at CFA Society Poland. He cooperates with numerous financial institutions and companies. He has served as a member of the Scientific Council of the National Bank of Poland and as a member of the Council of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Nolan O'Rear, Investment Banking Analyst, D.A. Davidson
Nolan O'Rear currently works as an investment banking analyst at D.A. Davidson, a middle market firm with offices across the United States. He supports the Financial Institutions Group in M&A, debt, and equity transactions for community banks. Nolan recently graduated from Northern Illinois University (NIU) with Bachelors degrees in Finance and Accounting. He also recently passed all four Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exams. Nolan was a member of the 2022 NIU CFA Institute Research Challenge team which won the Global Finals, covering Chicago-based Motorola Solutions throughout the five rounds of competition.
Paula Veyhle, Consultant, McKinsey (from 2023)
Based in Germany, Paula Veyhle is set to start working as a consultant at McKinsey at the beginning of 2023. She recently graduated from Northern Illinois University (NIU) with a Masters degree in Finance. Representing NIU with her team, she won the Global Finals of the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2022 with the target company being Chicago-based Motorola Solutions.
Mariusz Słowikowski, Director, Valuation and Modeling Team (Financial Services Industry) in Warsaw, Deloitte
Mariusz is a Director in the Financial Advisory Department of Deloitte Central Europe with over 15 years of professional experience. He has a broad experience in the financial services sector, including modelling and valuations, transaction services as well as portfolio lead advisory services. His experience includes due diligence and valuations of leading banks, insurance and leasing companies in Poland and CEE as well as preparation of a fairness opinion for transaction purposes. Prior to joining Deloitte Mariusz worked in Private Equity Fund Copernicus and in Canadian Investment Bank in Frankfurt am Main.
Brunno Maradei,Global Head of Responsible Investment, Aegon Asset Management
Brunno Maradei is the Global Head of Responsible Investment at Aegon Asset Management, managing a team of 20 ESG specialists conducting sustainability research, engagement, voting and policy advice. He chairs Aegon AM’s Sustainability Board and is a member of ESMA’s Consultation Working Group on Sustainability. Prior to this role, he structured finance for infrastructure projects in Africa at the European Investment Bank. Brunno has worked in the finance industry for over 20 years, starting at Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan in London. Brunno has led a pioneer ESG research provider, developed sustainable investment products for emerging markets and structured blended finance for donors at leading institutions including the International Finance Corporation and the European Commission. Brunno is a CFA charterholder, and holds an MBA from London Business School and a BSc (Econ) from the London School of Economics.
Anna Kobiela, Strategy and Transactions Analyst at EY-Parthenon
Anna Kobiela is a team member of the local champion of the 2022 CFA Research Challenge with the target company being Asseco Poland. Her previous work experience is related to accounting and audit, in which she worked for one of the Big Four companies. Currently, she works as a Strategy and Transactions Analyst at EY-Parthenon in Warsaw. She recently graduated from Kozminski University with a Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting and from the University of Economics in Katowice with a degree in Management.
Maksymilian Bąkowski, Financial Risk Analyst, Bain & Company
Maksymilian Bąkowski is a student of Finance & Accounting at Kozminski University, currently in the 2nd year of his master’s degree. Previously, he graduated in management with a marketing specialization at a bachelor’s level. He works as a financial risk analyst at Bain & Company in the Third Party Risk Management department. He is also a Polish Champion in CFA Research Challenge 2022 edition.
Nickolas Stone, Model Risk Management Associate, CIBC
Nick Stone is currently a Model Risk Management Associate at CIBC, located in Chicago. He works to govern risk exposure of bank financial, operating, and trading models. He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's in Finance as well as a Master's of Data Analytics from Northern Illinois University, where he was a Team Member of the global winning team for the 2022 CFA Research Challenge.
Szymon Markiewicz, Valuation and financial modelling intern, KPMG
Szymon Markiewicz was a leader of the winning team in the sub-regional and local CFA Research Challenge. He was mainly responsible for the valuation of Asseco Poland in the competition. Currently, Szymon is pursuing a Master's program at Koźmiński University on the finance and accounting track and also working at KPMG in the valuation and financial modelling department. In the past, Szymon gathered various work experience in fields such as financial instruments, consulting, and accounting. He had completed the finance and accounting program at Komiski University as part of his bachelor's degree. On his bachelor thesis, Szymon valued the football club Manchester United.
